THE BRIEF
Accountants Who Like to Stand Out
All In Advisory are accountants who like to stand out from the crowd and just be themselves. Their brand is playful, warm, expert and fresh, full of thought bubbles and puns like “Calc-u-later” and “We’ve got your back AND your numbers”.
They asked for something powerful and fun: a superhero comic wall with heroes loosely based on the directors, Aly and Lee, on an internal wall the whole team sees every day.
The starting point wasn’t pretty. The wall had exposed framing and torn plasterboard, so Aly’s husband repaired and re-sheeted it before we arrived with our brushes.
THE PROCESS
From Damaged Wall to Comic Book
Every mural starts with a digital design. This one went through a few fun rounds of feedback to make sure it was 100% them.
1. Digital design
We designed the comic panels on the iPad in their brand colours. The team asked for a high five with sparks, a pink superhero mask, a big WOW, a bomb blowing up the calculator and, of course, bigger muscles!
2. Base colours
With the design approved, we mapped it onto the wall and blocked in the bold background colours of every comic panel.
3. Outlines & details
Carolina added the thick black comic outlines, sparks and small details that give pop art its punch.
4. Lettering
Last came the hand-painted lettering: CALC-U-LATER, WE’RE ALL IN, WOW! and a cheeky TO BE CONTINUED…
